The kanun is a traditional Armenian musical instrument that has ancient roots and occupies an important place in the national musical culture of Armenia
The qanun is a string instrument shaped like a trapezoid, with many strings stretched along a wooden body. The sound of the qanun is distinguished by its purity and grace, it is capable of conveying both gentle, melodic overflows and energetic, rhythmic motives.
This instrument is used in Armenian folk music for performing both solo pieces and as part of ensembles.
Today, the qanun continues to play an important role in Armenian musical culture,
inspiring both modern composers and performers to create new works that preserve the spirit and traditions of the Armenian people. And if you want to touch history, then sign up for my classes, where together we will immerse ourselves in the world of beauty and antiquity.
